When choosing natural stone for a worktop or windowsill, we would only recommend using an extremely dense dolomitic limestone which is naturally resistant the absorption of liquid. This especially applies to busy family kitchens where spillages of coffee, red wine and cooking oil can be a regular occurrence. In any case, we would strongly recommend sealing with work surface with a special sealant liquid from a reputable company such as Lithofin or Akemi.
