Private villa, Djursholm, Sweden

This private villa in Djursholm, just outside Stockholm, was newly built in 2012. Berglund Arkitekter specified Jura Grey Limestone for the bathroom and sauna areas and Azul Valverde Limestone for the kitchen countertops and a bathroom vanity top.

Jura Grey Limestone is an extremely dense and hardwearing dolomitic limestone and it is very well suited to busy family homes. This stone also has an abundance of interesting fossils of sea creatures and plants which shows the true beauty of natural stone.

Azul Valverde Limestone is very popular in Sweden because it shares a close resemblance with Swedish Jämtlands limestone as well as sharing similar physical characteristics of being hard wearing and low maintenance. Because of this it is often selected for use as kitchen worktops and bathroom vanity tops.
